Territories, Blackouts & Exclusivity Windows
Restrict where a title can be licensed, block specific dates, and manage professional vs amateur conflict windows.
These three controls let you protect a touring production, comply with overseas agreements, and avoid awkward overlaps.
Territories
Each play defines a set of countries (or regions) where it can be licensed. Default is worldwide; restrict to AU + NZ if your contract with the author limits you to ANZ. Producers outside the territory will see the title in browse with a 'Not licensable in your region' banner and can register interest only.
Blackouts
Add a blackout window (start date → end date, optional venue or city filter) to prevent any new licence from overlapping. Use this when:
- A professional production is on sale and you want amateur quiet around it
- The author is in negotiations for a film/TV adaptation
- A festival has paid for a temporary exclusive
Exclusivity
A stricter form of blackout tied to a specific producer. While their licence is active and within the exclusivity radius (e.g. 50km of their venue), no other amateur licence can be issued. The system flags overlap automatically on the approval screen.
