Getting Started

Getting Started: Producers, Schools & Theatres

Find a show, request a licence, sign the contract, pay, and download your watermarked scripts.

This walks a producing org from signup to opening night. Estimated time end-to-end: 15 minutes of clicking, plus rights-holder approval time.

1. Create your producing org

Sign up and choose Producer/School/Theatre. Add your trading name and main venue.

2. Find a title

Browse Catalogue or search for a specific show. Each tile shows availability for your territory, cast size, and a perusal-script option if the rights-holder enabled it.

3. Request a licence

On the play page, click Request licence. You'll enter:

  • Performance dates
  • Venue + capacity
  • Ticket price range
  • Performance type (amateur/professional)

If the title is auto-approval eligible and you fit the criteria, you'll receive an immediate quote and licence offer. Otherwise the rights-holder reviews within 1–3 business days.

4. Sign the contract

Once approved, you'll receive a contract generated from the rights-holder's template. Review, type your name, and click Sign. You'll get a signed PDF for your records.

5. Pay

Pay by card via Stripe Checkout. The licence becomes Active the moment payment clears.

6. Download watermarked scripts

Open Licences → [your licence] → Resources. Each cast and crew member gets their own seat invite by email; their downloads carry a per-user watermark.

7. Close out within 14 days

After your final performance, submit attendance and gross box office in the Close-out tab. Any overage royalty is auto-invoiced; you'll get reminders at T-3, T-1, T+1, T+7, T+14 if it's still due.
