Payments, Refunds, and Payouts

All money moves through Stripe. Producers pay via Stripe Checkout; rights-holders receive payouts via Stripe Connect Express. The platform itself never touches the funds — Stripe routes them directly from the producer's card to the rights-holder's connected account, deducting the platform fee in-flight.

Producer payment flow

1. Licence is approved and contract signed
2. Producer is redirected to Stripe Checkout (embedded)
3. On success, Stripe webhook activates the licence within seconds
4. A tax invoice is generated and emailed automatically

Rights-holder payouts

Stripe pays out on a net-7 rolling daily schedule to your connected account. The platform fee is deducted at the gateway via Stripe Connect application_fee_amount — your dashboard shows gross (what the producer paid), platform fee, and net (what lands in your bank) for every transaction. Stripe processing fees come out of the platform fee, not your net.

Refunds

Producers can request a refund up to 24h before the first performance via Licences → [licence] → Request refund. Admin-approved refunds auto-revoke the licence and lock materials. Refunds reverse the full charge including the platform fee; Stripe processing fees on the original charge are not recoverable.
