Payout Schedule, Holds & Reserves
How and when Stripe pays you, why a payout might be held, and how to clear a reserve.
Default schedule is net-7 daily: every business day, Stripe pays out funds that have cleared their 7-day pending window.
Why a payout may be delayed
- Stripe risk hold (new account, unusual volume) — usually clears in 1–2 days
- Open dispute on a charge in the same batch
- Bank holiday between transfer initiation and arrival
- Reserve requirement (typically only for high-chargeback accounts)
Reserves
Stripe may impose a rolling reserve (e.g. 10% held for 90 days) on accounts with elevated risk. You can request a review after 3 months of clean activity.
