Refunds, Disputes & Chargebacks
When refunds are allowed, how disputes are handled, and what happens to a licence when a chargeback hits.
Refunds are bounded by your rights-holder's policy and the contract terms. Defaults below; rights-holders can override.
Default refund windows
- More than 60 days before opening → 100% refund of fee, minus a 5% admin charge
- 30–60 days before opening → 50% refund
- Less than 30 days → no refund, but materials can be cancelled to release the title
- After opening → no refund
Requesting a refund
On the licence, click Request refund, choose a reason, and add a note. The rights-holder is notified; a decision is required within 5 business days.
Chargebacks
If a producer initiates a chargeback through their bank, the licence is immediately frozen and an admin investigation is opened. Materials are revoked. Outcome posts back to both sides.
Platform admin override
Platform admins can issue partial or full refunds outside the standard window when fraud, force majeure, or platform error is involved.
